To Our Residents and Families:
We have good news to share. As you may have heard, visitation of residents in senior living communities will be resuming on a limited basis in the near future. Our Executive Directors and care teams have until July 25th to prepare an implementation plan for allowing residents to designate an essential care giver, or care givers, who will be able to visit on a scheduled basis.
Based on guidelines from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), visitor restrictions have been in place since March of 2020. These restrictions were put in place to help mitigate and prevent the spread of COVID-19 and with your assistance have worked to keep our communities safe.
While the MDH recognizes the importance of social distancing and physical separation to help keep residents safe, it also acknowledges the unintended consequences of prolonged physical separation and isolation on a resident’s overall health and well-being.
Recognizing the critical role family members and other close, outside caregivers have in the care and support of residents, we are working to develop a process to designate essential caregivers and set up visitation schedules as soon as possible.
While our current outside visits will continue, we are looking forward to welcoming family and friends back to our communities. We will send out guidelines and scheduling information once completed.
Thank you for your support and patience as we navigate life with COVID-19. It truly does take a village to keep everyone safe and healthy and we acknowledge the sacrifices you have made to take care of yourselves, your neighbors and our staff.
